one of the surgeons asked her saturday if she wanted to see a photograph of her leg. she politely declined, saying, "i'm not actually that interested. i'm sure my husband would like to. he seems very interested in all the details." "that must be pretty annoying," came the apt reply. so tonight i am just holding her hand.
the girls were able to visit both weekend days and i will post a photo or two when i am able.
kristen asked me to send along this thought:
"i dont have the energy or eloquence to properly thank everyone who has done so much for me and my family in this tough time. i just wanted to make sure that everyone knows how thankful i am. i dont think i'll ever be able to truly thank you or tell you how fortunate i feel to be part of these families and this circle of friends. i love each and every one of you and i am so grateful."

Dear Kristen and Ben, sending more thoughts and prayers for stamina, and strength for you both. Just wanted to say hello, and let you know, not a min. goes by that I'm not thinking of you and sending my love and energy. The days are getting longer, the light seeps through like magic and miracles, may it surround you, permeate your spirits and give you healing and joy. Love, mom Caryl
